Theme and Visuals

The first thing that strikes you when you start to play the Creature from The Black Lagoon slot for free is the stunning attention to detail. NetEnt puts forward a detailed surround with a riffling lagoon, tall trees, and birds flying from branch to branch. The reels integrate the original cast and equipment used in the film. Each of these has been hand-drawn in a vintage, cinematic poster style. The ‘Creature’ doesn’t appear on your reels, but you will see it lurking around the Lagoon and the animated scenes during the free rounds. The high-quality visuals are accompanied by a strong, tailor-made sound effect, similar to the original film’s soundtrack. Soft music plays gently, but it rapidly changes to a more orchestral dramatic piece when a winning combination is generated. Occasionally, a win is followed by a movie quote, which serves to draw the player further into the story, as it creates a horror feeling. The graphics and animation are marvellous. Some beautiful 3D effects in form of the creature from Black Lagoon free slot machine are dispersed throughout the game, adding to the stun and thrill.

Special Features

Having stunning visuals and great soundtrack is very important, but for the game to be sensational, it needs something unique. Special features, to be more exact and that is what this terrific slot offers:

Wild Symbol

These icons may appear randomly in the main game, in any position on the reels and it can replace any symbol, excluding Free Spin and Target. Within the main game and free spins, Wilds act as Sticky Wilds that rest on the reels for subsequent re-spins. During a re-spin, the Sticky Wild holds the position on the reel. In free spins, when the Health Meter reaches level 1, Wilds can randomly appear anywhere on the reels 1-4. At levels 2-4, Wild symbols can appear anywhere on reels 2, 3, and 4. Wild symbol replacement pays the highest winning combination on a bet line, in accordance with the Paytable.

Free Spins

When 3 or more of the Free Spins symbols appear within the main game, the special feature is triggered, as follows:

• 3 symbols = 10 Free Spins;
• 4 symbols = 15 Spins;
• 5 symbols = 20 free rounds.

In this feature, a target symbol may randomly appear anywhere on reel 5, causing the creature from Black Lagoon to arise on the right side of the screen and get shot. The monster’s health status is displayed by a Health Meter in the bottom right corner of the screen. As more hits occur and a new level in the Health Meter is reached, the monster’s health deteriorates, and one of the following outcomes will apply:

• Level 1 is 0-2 collected target icons. Any Wild that appears on reels will act as Sticky Wild that glues to the reels for one re-spin.
• Level 2 is 3-5 collected target symbols. The first Spreading Wild is activated. Wilds will spread horizontally, one position to the left only and stay for 1 re-spin.
• Level 3 is 6-8 collected targets. The second Spreading Wild is activated and will spread horizontally 1 position on reels, left-right, right-left and stick the reels for 1 re-spin.
• At Level 4, the final level, 9 target symbols collected will activate 10 additional free rounds.

In the additional rounds, any Wild appearing shall spread horizontally 1 position on the reels, both to the left and right. After the 4^th level, no further targets can be collected. At the end of the free rounds, the game will return to the round that activated the feature.
